My Niche - Playtography

Lately I've been focusing on getting as much photography training as possible.  I'm in that mode that I just want to soak in all in like a sponge, and that's what I've been doing. 

When it comes to any art form, a recurring theme successful photographers will say is you have to find your own unique style.

I love this idea.  

 I think I've found something I can market as my own style.  I call it Playtography.  

It wouldn't be your typical photo session.  

There wouldn't be any posing!

There wouldn't be any pre-planned shots!

It would all be up to the kids.  

They would play and I would just happen to be hanging around with my camera. 

And I would get shots like these:  

I think families would like pictures like these.  

Real moments.  

Real laughter.

Real play.  

Real fun!!!!

Little Levi Thomason!

I was so excited to get to shoot my good friends little one! 

He's soo sweet, and he looks a lot like his big brother, but with darker hair.

He was 2 1/2 weeks old.  

I always have tried to shoot the newborns before 2 weeks, but Levi did great!

And maybe because he was just a tad bit older, we got some really great shots with his eyes wide open

Looking forward to watching this little one grow!!

Britton Family with Newborn Wesley!

A couple of weeks ago, I got to shoot another newborn!!  

I love newborns.  

Wesley was exactly 2 weeks old and extremely alert.  

The little stinker refused to go to sleep, so he was awake for all of our shots!

That was OK.  He has beautiful eyes!

And his big brother Jaxon was super fun to shoot too!  

This is one of my favorite shots of the two of them...even though Wesley was a little upset, I love how Jaxon was holding his hand, trying to comfort him!

Later that evening, I got to shoot the entire family...

Such a great family!  FOUR boys! 

Jeff and Melinda have done an awesome job raising these guys.  The boys are so fun and extremely polite. 

I had a crazy idea to move the couch outside...

I think it worked!

Wesley's Daddy is in the National Guard so we had to do a couple of shots for him.

So sweet! I love this one. 

Burke and Pitner Families Photo Shoot!

Last Saturday we had an absolutely gorgeous day! 

 Perfect day for a photo shoot : )

I met up with the Pitner's and the Burke's and was able to capture some great shots!

They were an easy-going bunch up for anything, and such a good-looking family!!

Gorgeous!!

She takes after her Momma, and this girl knows how to pose!! 

Friendly advice...

I could tell the Burke's were a very close family and really wanted to capture that closeness on camera.

So sweet!

it's ALWAYS the unintended shots that become my favorites.  

Maybe that's because it's real life...stuff that can't be posed or made up.
